Our Commitment to Safeguarding

Our practice is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. We believe that everyone has the right to live free from abuse, harm, neglect, and exploitation.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we work closely with local safeguarding partners, health services, and social care to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients.

What Is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding means protecting people from:

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional or psychological abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Neglect or acts of omission
  • Financial or material abuse
  • Discrimination
  • Domestic abuse
  • Modern slavery or exploitation

We take all concerns seriously.

Our Responsibilities

As a GP practice, we:

  • Follow national safeguarding guidance and local safeguarding procedures
  • Ensure all staff receive appropriate safeguarding training
  • Have clear procedures for identifying and reporting concerns
  • Appoint a named Safeguarding Lead within the practice
  • Work in partnership with local safeguarding services

Confidentiality

We respect patient confidentiality at all times. However, safeguarding concerns may require us to share information to protect someone from harm.
